Calveley Primary Academy

Looking back at some of the school designs we have completed over the last few years, I realised we have not shared some of these lovely projects. The NWAT has some beautiful school buildings and we have been lucky to refresh some of these. Many are so full of character.

With this school design the main focus was to create calm, multifunctional spaces that inspire the children and provide spaces for the staff to retreat and recharge.

This project completed in October 2023.

It was quite some task for the team to develop the design and layouts to accommodate the  relocation of all the Partners from 171 Victoria Street. 

Budgets were tight and so it was essential to reuse everything we could. We created an furniture asset register for a number of the JLP sites where we could take the furniture, fixture and fittings to their new home.

Some new furniture was added to support some of the new ways of working and collaborating, such as the Railway booths by Spacestor and the Silen Phone Pods delivered by Kinnarps.

The phone pods have been a great success.

The project was developed and delivered using Revit. 

The Photography Shoot

Following the completion, I had the pleasure of spending the day with my 17 year old son who is currently in his final year of A Level photography. It was great to be on site with him and I think he did a marvellous job.

Introducing Georgia, who graduated with a BA Hons in Architecture from the University of Liverpool in 2023. She became a full time member of the team in September having worked part time since April 2021!

Rudheath Senior Academy - Phase 3 - Drama, Language Block & New Toilet refurbishment - 30.04.21

Rudheath Senior Academy - Progress on Phase 3 works. 

Photographs from today on site. Drama room floor removed and getting ready for concrete. Cant wait so we can meet with the AV specialist to coordinate the design we have for the room. What a space. Classrooms and first toilet block to be refurbed coming on too. Detail Decoration next!

John Lewis & Partners - Social Distancing

Well whilst the whole team were all locked down and working for home, John Lewis and Partners asked us to put together some short fly throughs to help them with their communication piece for their partners. This first flythrough (shown here), illustrates the new circulation and procedures for entering the head office in London. Alongside that we have illustrated drawings to show the social distancing implementation for all head office building for John Lewis and Waitrose.  

It was great to be busy during this stressful time but I never imagined it would be doing things like this! We are starting to move gradually back to working in the studio one day a week. There have been so many challenges and working remotely really well was down to the Saspirella team.  Although it has been stressfull at home, I dont think we will ever return to full weeks in the studio. Maybe we can take the positives of working at home with the benefit of having some days in the studio each week and get some balance. 

I have really enjoyed my days in the studio, slightly lonely but a welcomed change to homeschooling...... Bringing sample boards together felt like such a treat.

The studio is slightly different now we have space everyone out and there are wipes, hand sanitiser and antibacterial spray everywhere but it is good to be back. Looking forward to my Wednesday in there with a zoom lesson from our Tobi on Revit!

Office interior design is changing .... I believe it is time.

Rudheath Senior Academy - Twiggy Manifestation

             

Love this "twiggy" manifestation!

Tektura Wall coverings and Buildzone (main contractor) really sorted this one out for us after an initial failed install! This one gave me sleepness nights but it was worth it and the manifestation is so calming. This does not feel like a school wahtsoever and I am so excited about the next stages. Looking froward to adding finishing touches to this stage.
